Abstract:
A portable telephone (1) comprising a rotating means (4) for dividing the body provided with a liquid crystal display screen (5) capable of displaying image data or character data and an operating section (6) for performing various operations into a first case (2) and a second case (3) along an axis substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the body, and coupling the first case (2) and the second case (3), rotatably about the longitudinal rotational axis of the first case (2) and the second case (3), and a system control (21) for setting a specified function, when the liquid crystal display screen (5) and the operating section (6) are rotated through the rotating means (4), depending on the rotational position thereof.
