Abstract:

Provided are a portable electronic device, an IC card, and a program which enable effective acquisition of a plurality of pieces of biological information. According to an embodiment, the portable electronic device that executes a command from a host apparatus is provided with a sensor and a processor. The sensor acquires biological information. The processor causes the sensor to acquire first biological information for generating a template used for authentication, causes the sensor to acquire, after the acquisition of the first biological information, second biological information for generating the template, and outputs a signal indicating that the second biological information is inappropriate as biological information to be used for generating the template when the similarity between the first biological information and the second biological information exceeds a first threshold value.
