Description:
PORTABLE OVEN

The present invention refers to a portable heating means, for liquid or solid fuel, and especially for heating temporary lodgings.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Portable heating means include a number of loose parts, which in the operation state of the heating means are assembled to a cooperating unit. Besides the heating means itself, these parts can be a fume pipe consisting of several parts, a hotplate, a fuel tank, a dosage regulator, if the fuel is liquid, a screen surrounding the heating means, which prevents unwanted contact of the hot heating means and a transport container, where all parts can be stowed, while transporting and storing the heating means. All these parts are bulky, together have relatively high weight, which specially for portable objects that have to be handled manually are obvious disadvantage.

THE OBJECT AND MOST IMPORTANT FEATURE

The object of the present invention is to provide a portable heating means, which in transporting condition has less volume and lower weight, which is more secure for protection against combustion, which gives a better heat distribution and smaller heat losses, and also provides more secure fuel supply system when liquid fuel is used. These objects have been achieved by the heating means with accessories, such as fumes pipe, a hotplate, and heat shield etc., during transport and storing is located in a container provided with cover, which container is designed as a screen surrounding the heating means, and that the cover is arranged with a protective pipe protecting the heating means in the transport position, which during the operation stage of the heating means has the function of a fuel rack at the side of the heating means.

DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS

The invention will be described closer in some embodiments, with reference to the attached drawings. Fig. 1 in perspective shows the container according to the invention, empty and with the cover on.

Fig. 2 in perspective shows the entire container with all accessories placed on it.

Fig. 3 in perspective shows the container cover in an upside down position with protection pipe.

Fig. 4 in perspective shows the heating means with all accessories in operation state.

Fig. 5 in an enlarged scale and in a frontal view, shows a part of the fuel supply system.

DESCRIPTION OF THE EMBODIMENTS

The portable heating means 11, shown in fig. 4, is located and with its feet 12 and on the base plate 13 fastened to a container 14, which has a double function: partly as a transport container according to fig. 1 and 2 and partly as shielding screen in the operation position, according to fig. 4. All walls 15 of the container 14 is provided with air flowing through openings, so that the heating means can freely emit its thermal energy, both through radiation and convection to the surrounding area. The container walls 15 consist of suitably strong net, grid or the like, attached to a surrounding frame of the container opening 33. A hole 16 is arranged in one gable wall of the container for connecting the fuel hose 17 to and manoeuvring a fuel regulator 18.

The container 14 is closable by means of a cover 19, which on the inside is provided with an interposing protection pipe 20 in the container, which is so arranged that, in the transport position of the container with cover in place, surrounds - protects - major part of the heating means. In operating position the cover 19 is used upside down with the protecting pipe 20 directed upwards. The

pipe is provided with a slit 25 along its entire length and the pipe opening 21 exhibits a first recess 22 and diametrally opposite a slightly deeper second recess or shelf 23. Both recesses are provided as seat for a fuel tank 24, which in case of liquid fuel may be a fuel can. If solid fuel is used, it can be placed directly in the split opened tube 20.

The fumes pipe 26 of the heating means consists of sections, each having such a length that they in the standing transportation position can be placed in the container.

The heating means itself is of a conventional construction and includes a gasification burner, which gasifies the liquid fuel. In a specially designed turbo part the gasification in an efficient and carbon free combustion with good efficiency is achieved by adding combustion air to the combustion zone. The heating means can also be fired using fuel of all types, neverless this requires that the carburation part can quickly and easily be dismantled, so that the ashes can be emptied manually. It is done through hole 16 in the container wall 15.

For the fuel supply system of portable heating means it is very important that the system is portable and independent of mechanical or electrical pumps. Consequently, the fuel can 24 has been placed standing up in the protection pipe 20, with the upside down cover 19 as a trough, which catches possible leaking fuel, so that it cannot come out in the nature. The fuel supply system is based on siphon principle, and to start this, the fuel hose 17 has been doubled by a return hose 27. A non-return valve (not shown) is connected to the end of the fuel hose 17 arranged in the can

24, while the opposite end, through a rubber bladder 28 of nonfreezing material and a quick-coupling 29 is connectable to the dosage regulator 18 of the heating means. Between the rubber bladder 28 and the quick-coupling 29 a T-coupling 30 is arranged to be connected to one end of the return hose 27, while the opposite end, terminates in the can 24. In this way the air in the system can be pumped off and possible overflow fuel is fed back to

the can. Through this design of the supply system, on one hand a total deaeration is achieved, which is necessary for a reliable function, and on the other hand through the simple structural design of the system a secure operation even at extreme low temperatures is achieved.

A disadvantage with portable heating means, specially in the tent, indicated in fig. 4, designated with 31, is that the heat is most intensive near to the heating means, while at the tent wall the temperature can be below zero. At least one heat shield 32 is included in the heating means accessories kit in the container 14, which is so designed that it basically covers the entire horizontal loading opening 33 of the container. Suitably, the heat shield 32 is via a spacer placed on the hotplate of the heating means, so that the vertical hot air stream coming from the heating means deflected to a horizontal airflow, which is directed outwardly in the direction towards the floor of the tent and the tent wall. To protect close objects from strong heat, the container is provided with vertical heat shields 34, which may be placed inside the container, closest to the container wall 15, which shields against direct heat radiation. Also, on the fumes pipe 26 a similar horizontal heat shield (not shown) can be arranged, to guide the rising hot airflow downwards.

The invention is not limited to those described and on the drawings shown embodiments, but several variations are possible within the scoop of the claims. Consequently the container, heating means, cover as well as the protection pipe can be of other appearance than the one illustrated on the drawings.
