Abstract:

A small-sized planar antenna attached to a portable radio device is only for a narrow band. Therefore, the resonance frequency of the antenna is fluctuated by the interaction between the antenna and a peripheral dielectric, such as the enclosure, the body of the user, etc., and the transmission efficiency and reception sensitivity of the antenna are low. In order to solve such a problem, a communicating section (composed of a coaxial line or microstrip line) is provided in the portable radio device and a circularly polarized wave antenna for satellite communication is attached to the communication section so as to ensure the distances between the enclosure and antenna and between the body of the user and the antenna.
