Abstract:
A portable telephone enabling the user to make conversation with the party without suspending
to view a television broadcast even if the potable telephone receives a call.
The portable telephone (100) comprises a wireless transmitting/receiving section
(102) for transmitting/receiving a wireless telephone signal, a TV tuner (103)
for receiving data broadcast where video information, sound information, and
text information are compressed/multiplexed, a video processing section (113)
for displaying video information included in the received data broadcast on
a display (114), a sound processing section (106) for outputting the sound information
included in the received data broadcast and conversation speech produced by
the wireless telephone signal, and text display switching section (112) for
displaying the text on the display (114) by switching the sound signal to the text
signal when conversation is started while the user is viewing the data broadcast,
and a sound switching section (107) for switching the sound included in the data
broadcast outputted from the sound processing section (106) to the conversation
speech when the conversation is started while the user is viewing the data broadcast.
