Abstract:
A portable terminal device where a user can start up a desired function while performing operation, and this increases convenience for the user. The portable terminal device in which at least one connection section for connecting at least two housings is provided and applications are mounted has a detection section and a start-up section. The detection section detects a relative positional relationship between the housings. The start-up section starts up at least one application of the applications based on the positional relationship detected by the detection section. A user using a portable terminal device with this construction can start up a desired application by one operation, and this eliminates the need of a two-step operation where the portable terminal device is opened and then an application is selected on a menu selection screen. The operation is simple and convenience for a user is increased.
