Abstract:
An emergency broadcast at a disaster such as an earthquake can be received on a digital
television, and the power consumption during the standby mode when no emergency
broadcast is sent out. If a disaster such as an earthquake strikes, the Meteorological
Agency server (3) instructs a broadcast station (8) to start an emergency broadcast
and sends earthquake information to an emergency broadcast reception information
distribution server (5) through the Internet (3) and a portable telephone network
(4). The emergency broadcast reception information distribution server (5)
distributes emergency broadcast reception information to portable telephones
(1) with a television receiver through a portable telephone base station (6)
in the area where the earthquake strikes. Each portable telephone (1) with a television
receiver activates a television broadcast receiving circuit when the emergency
broadcast reception information is included in the received portable wireless
communication and receives the emergency broadcast from the broadcast station
(8). If an emergency broadcast reception instruction is included in the emergency
broadcast, the portable telephone (1) activates all the circuits having a television
reception function and reproduces the emergency broadcast.
