Abstract:
In the present invention, a smart ECU transmits, from a plurality of LF transmitters, an LF signal that includes a transmitter number indicating the transmission origin, and measures the distance to a smart key using a BLE communicator. The smart key transmits a BLE signal indicating the LF reception strength for each transmission origin to the smart ECU at a prescribed timing. The smart ECU maintains a map indicating combinations of distances and LF reception strengths, which can be measured when the smart key is in a prescribed area such as the vicinity of a vehicle door or inside a passenger compartment. The smart ECU determines whether the smart key is present in an object area by comparing an actual observed value pertaining to distance and LF reception strength and the content registered in the map.
