Abstract:
A positioning device according to this disclosure is for estimating the position of a radio station on the basis of the result of receiving unidirectional radio transmission from first and second transmission stations to the radio station, and is characterized by comprising: a reception information acquisition unit for acquiring information about the reception at the radio station of first radio waves transmitted from the first transmission station and second radio waves transmitted from the second transmission station; an arrival time difference estimation unit for using the reception information to estimate the difference between the times when the first and second radio waves arrived at the radio station; an arrival angle difference estimation unit for using the reception information to estimate the difference between the angles at which the first and second radio waves arrived at the radio station; and a position estimation unit for using the estimated arrival time difference and the estimated arrival angle difference to estimate the position of the radio station. This disclosure makes it possible to determine the position of a radio station even in a case where radio waves are received from two transmission stations, which cannot be handled by conventional TDOA positioning, and makes it possible to carry out positioning in a wider variety of environments than with conventional TDOA positioning.
