The present application discloses a positioning method and apparatus, a communication device, and a medium, which belong to the technical field of communications. The positioning method in embodiments of the present application comprises: a first device executes a target operation so as to assist a first terminal perform positioning, wherein the target operation comprises at least one of the following: transmitting a target message, transmitting a first SL-PRS, and selecting a target first resource; and the target first resource is used to transmit the first SL-PRS and/or transmit the target message. The target message comprises at least one of the following: a positioning request, positioning auxiliary data, and first resource configuration information; and the first resource configuration information is used to configure at least one first resource. The target first resource is one or more resources among the at least one first resource. The first SL-PRS is used to determine location information of the first terminal and/or a second terminal, and/or SL-PRS measurement information. The second terminal is a peer terminal which executes SL communication or SL positioning with the first terminal.
