A positioning method and apparatus. The method comprises: a first terminal device sending a first reference signal (201); receiving a second reference signal from a second terminal device (202), the second reference signal comprising a first port and a second port; receiving first indication information (203); and determining location information of the second terminal device according to the first indication information (204), wherein the first indication information is used for indicating a first time difference and a second time difference, the first time difference is the time difference between the sending time of the second reference signal and the first reception time of the first reference signal, the second time difference is the time difference between the sending time of the second reference signal and the second reception time of the first reference signal, the first reception time is associated with the first port, and the second reception time is associated with the second port. The method effectively avoids the problem of ambiguity in time difference information fed back to the first terminal device by the second terminal device.
