Abstract:
Embodiments of the present application provide a positioning method and apparatus. The method comprises: a first device receives a first message from a second device on a first bandwidth, the first message being used for requesting position information of the first device, a source end device of the first message being a third device, the first device and the second device being located in a first sub-network in a wireless mesh network, and the third device being located in a second sub-network in the mesh network; and the first device sends a ranging signal and/or receives a ranging signal on a second bandwidth, the ranging signal being used for determining the position information of the first device, and the first bandwidth being smaller than the second bandwidth. According to the solution, different stages in a positioning process are executed by using different bandwidths in combination, so that the working time of the second bandwidth can be reduced while the positioning precision is ensured. Thus, power consumption can be reduced, and the solution has a flexible application space in the fields of indoor positioning and the like.
