Abstract:
Provided in the embodiments of the present application are a positioning method and apparatus. In the present application, a gateway mobile location center (GMLC) can request, by means of an identifier of a location area, the acquisition of an identifier of a user equipment in the location area and a positioning result of the user equipment from an access and mobility management function network element (AMF). That is, the GMLC can report the positioning result of a user in the location area on the basis of the identifier of the location area, that is, the GMLC can realize the positioning of a terminal device in any place or region where users are not fixed, such that the quality of service for the users is improved, the signaling interaction can also be reduced, and the service experience is improved.
