Provided is a positioning ring. The positioning ring is circular, and comprises a positioning end surface (35) that is perpendicular to the axial direction, positioning grooves (2) that recess towards the interior of the positioning ring are provided on the positioning end surface (35), and an opening (7) of the positioning groove (2) is provided on the positioning end surface (35). The positioning ring can achieve a positioning function by means of the positioning grooves. Further provided is a washing machine, the positioning ring being disposed in the washing machine, and the positioning ring being fixed on a washing drum; and the washing machine also comprises telescopic positioning rods (12), wherein the positioning rods (12) can be correspondingly inserted into the positioning grooves of the positioning ring. The washing machine can utilize the positioning ring fixed on the washing drum to achieve locking of the washing drum.
