Abstract:
The present invention provides a battery cell comprising: an electrode assembly having a cathode and an anode, each of which have 2 x n (n≥2) sides on a plane, and a separation film, which is interposed between the cathode and the anode and has a shape corresponding to the cathode and the anode, stacked therein, and having a structure in which cathode taps are respectively formed on odd sides of first to 2nth sides of the cathode, and anode taps are respectively formed on even sides of first to 2nth sides of the anode, such that the cathode taps and the anode taps are alternately placed along the sides on the plane; electrode terminals, which are electrically connected to the cathode taps and anode taps, respectively, and are located on first and second surfaces of the electrode assembly, on which the outermost electrodes are respectively located, or on third surfaces, which are side surfaces of the electrode assembly and are orthogonal to each of the first and second surfaces; and a battery case of a structure encompassing the outer surface of the electrode assembly in a state in which at least a portion of the electrode terminals is exposed to the outside.
