The present invention relates to: a battery cell in which heat propagation to neighboring battery cells is prevented during ignition and venting is downwardly induced; and a structure of a battery module including the battery cell. The battery cell comprises an electrode assembly, a pouch, which accommodates the electrode assembly, is folded in half and is sealed on three sides that exclude the folded side, and an electrode lead, which extends from the electrode assembly so as to protrude to the outside of the pouch, and comprises an insulating, heat-resistant and fire-resistant blocking member, which has a box shape with one open side and a slit-shaped lead hole, wherein the electrode lead protrudes to the outside of the blocking member through the lead hole, and the blocking member covers five sides that exclude the folded side.
