Abstract:
Provided is at least any from among: a powder composition with which calcined bodies of similar processing properties can be obtained without needing to apply different forming conditions and calcination conditions from composition to composition; a production method for the powder composition; a calcined body obtained from the powder composition; a production method for the calcined body; and an application for each thereof. This powder composition comprises two or more zirconium species each having a lanthanoid rare earth element in solid solution and a transition metal element other than zirconium and hafnium, the remainder being a zirconium species stabilized solely by one or more elements selected from the group consisting of yttrium, calcium, and magnesium, and is characterized in that each zirconium species having a lanthanoid rare earth element in solid solution have a different lanthanoid rare earth element in solid solution and that the transition metal element content is 1,500 ppm or less.
