A shaft sealing structure wherein part of an outer wall constituting a clean box (2) serves as a component member of a powder processing unit, the clean box (2) being integrated with a processing chamber (31), thus making the entire device compact, such compact construction ensuring that even if a shaft sealing means (6) and an oil sealing means are disposed close to each other, the reliable shaft sealing function is guaranteed, thereby making possible the processing of fine powder by high speed rotation. A powder processing unit wherein setting means for component members involved in assembling and disassembling of the processing chamber (31) can be centralized, achieving simplification of the whole assembly and of assembling operation, so that, without decreasing the efficiency of production, assembling and disassembling operation involved in washing operation or the like can be performed easily and in a short time. Further, the use or non-use of a raw material feeder (7) can be selected in a manner harmonized with the relationship between a balance with the way of feeding involved in production and mounting and dismounting operation involved in washing operation, thus reducing the operation burden of mounting and dismounting and washing of the feeder (7) itself.
