Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a powdered CeO2-ZrO2 complex oxide that is capable of improving the purification capability of an exhaust gas purification catalyst at low to medium temperatures. In order to solve this problem, the present invention provides a powdered CeO2-ZrO2 complex oxide that has a 10–100 nm size-range pore volume of 0.35 ml/g or greater after a thermal treatment performed in the open air for three hours at 1,000°C, and a carbon dioxide desorption level of 80 μmol/g or more as measured via temperature-programmed desorption following said thermal treatment.
