A power control system (1) has: a plurality of base stations (20) that are a plurality of customers including communication devices (70), rectifiers (50), and storage batteries (60) that are loads; and a control unit (2) (or control unit (2A)) for controlling the rectifiers (50) and storage batteries (60) of the plurality of customers. At least some of the plurality of customers perform a specific power control using the storage batteries (60). In this case, the control unit (2) estimates a state relating to the failure of the storage battery (60) in each of the plurality of customers and selects, on the basis of the estimated result, customers subject to the specific power control. In the selected customers, the specific power control is performed by performing the operation of charging and discharging the storage batteries (60).
