Abstract:
Single-phase inverters (4) are serially connected to the respective phases of a three-phase three-level inverter (3) that is connected to a first DC power supply (2), thereby providing a three-phase AC power to a load (7). Each phase of the three-phase three-level inverter (3) provides one pulse voltage for the half period, and the respective one of the single-phase inverters (4) provides its output under PWM control on the basis of an output voltage command (27) obtained by superimposing a common zero-phase AC voltage (25) on the phase difference voltage (22) occurring between a sinusoidal wave voltage (20) and the respective phase voltage of the three-phase three-level inverter (3). A compensation power supply (13), which is connected between one output terminal of the first DC power supply (2) and the ground potential, provides the same voltage as the common zero-phase AC voltage (25).
