Abstract:
A power conversion device according to an aspect of the present invention is for converting power from a power source into power to be supplied to a motor which has a winding wire of n phases (n is integer of 3 or more), and is provided with: an inverter that is provided with a plurality of switch elements connected to the winding wire; a control unit that controls operation of each of the switch elements of the inverter; and a fault detection unit that detects a sign of a fault of a driving system spanning from the power source to the motor, wherein, if the sign of the fault is detected by the fault detection unit, the control unit, while supplying power to the motor, confirms the presence of the fault of the driving system by causing the inverter to carry out an operation to be performed when a fault has occurred.
