Abstract:

The present invention improves the cooling performance of a power conversion device installed on a railway vehicle. A power conversion device for a railway vehicle, is provided with: a plurality of power semiconductor elements; and a heat receiving member, the plurality of power semiconductor elements being attached to one side surface of the heat receiving member, wherein the heat receiving member is horizontally provided in the lower portion of the vehicle body, the power semiconductor elements are arranged on the upper side of the heat receiving member, and a heat dissipating unit formed of a self-excited vibration heat pipe is provided on the opposite surface of the heat receiving member, whereby a structure is configured in which wind made by travelling of the vehicle is drawn into the heat dissipating unit.
