Abstract:
A power conversion device (20) has input side terminals (CH1, CL1), output side terminals (CH2, CL2), and switch portions (Q5-Q8, Q1), wherein the switch portions are turned on and off when performing power transmission from an electricity storage unit (10) connected to the input side terminals to an object (11) to be supplied with power connected to the output side terminals. The switch portions have characteristics such that, when a reverse conducting current flows, a conduction loss that occurs when turned off becomes larger than that when turned on. The power conversion device is provided with a control unit (70) for determining whether there is a demand for an increase in the amount of heat generation associated with the power transmission. When it is determined that there is a demand for an increase, the control unit turns off a switch portion through which a reverse conducting current flows when performing the power transmission. When it is determined that there is no demand for an increase, the control unit turns on the switch portion through which a reverse conducting current flows when performing the power transmission.
