Abstract:
A vertical cylindrical rotary body (2) is rotatably attached to an installation base (1) that is fixed to the sea bottom surface, mounting frames (3) are radially attached from the periphery of the rotary body (2), flat plate-like pressure-receiving plates (4) are rotatably hinged to the upper-side position of the respective mounting frames (3), said pressure-receiving plates having a slightly lower specific gravity than that of the seawater and being light enough to generate buoyancy; and stoppers (5b) and stoppers (5a) are further provided in order to restrict the rotation of the pressure-receiving plates (4) to stay within an angle range of between a slightly downward angle of 4 degrees from the horizontal plane and a substantially perpendicular angle of 90 degrees, thereby increasing the rotation speed of the rotary body (2) when rotating a power generator (7).
