Abstract:
A technique disclosed in the present description relates to a power supply device and a power supply method capable of more safely switching to autonomous operation using an internal power supply. The power supply device supplies power to a load 2 and is provided with: an internal power supply (3) for storing power; a control unit 6 for controlling a power supply path to the load; a disaster monitoring unit 9 for outputting disaster information that is information about the presence or absence of the occurrence of a disaster; and a voltage monitoring unit (7) for outputting voltage information that is information about the voltage of an external power supply (1) that is a commercial power system connected to the power supply device. The control unit selects either the power supply path from the external power supply to the load or the power supply path from the internal power supply to the load on the basis of the disaster information and the voltage information.
