A power supply system comprises: a wearable unit that is worn on the hand of an operator; a connection member that is to be retained in the wearable unit, that is disposed in a location where the connection member will be mounted to a tool-side mounting unit provided in a grasping portion of an electric tool as the operator wearing the wearable unit grasps the grasping portion, that has a flat terminal layout face at which a power source terminal to supply power to the electric tool and a signal terminal into which a response signal from the electric tool is input are disposed in exposed fashion, and in which the power source terminal and the signal terminal are electrically connected to the electric tool when the connection member is mounted to the tool-side mounting unit; and a control circuit that sets an energized state between the power source terminal and a power source unit when a response signal is input to the signal terminal and sets a non-energized state between the power source terminal and the power source unit when no response signal is input.
