Abstract:
Provided is a vehicle power transmission device capable of achieving seamless upshifting, wherein "appropriate operation is also obtained during downshifting, normal acceleration and normal deceleration." For each gear position, an "engaged member" and an "engaging member" are provided. The "engaged member" is fixed to an idling gear. The "engaging member" is provided on a corresponding shaft, on which the idling gear is provided, so that relative rotation is not possible and movement in the shaft direction between an "engagement position for engaging with the engaged member" and a "disengaged position of non-engagement with the engaged member" is possible. In the regions where the engaging member and the engaged member face each other, a pair of frictional engagement surfaces is provided. Regarding the engagement structure between the engaging member and the corresponding shaft on which the idling gear is provided, the respective engagement surfaces of the corresponding shaft and the engaging member that engage with each other when the engaging member is in the engagement position and a torque in the deceleration direction is acting are slanted with respect to the shaft direction so as to generate a "shaft direction force wherein the engaging member presses on the engaged member."
