Abstract:
This power unit for straddle-type vehicles is equipped with: a crankcase (38) that rotatably supports a crankshaft (61); a rotor (72) that is provided upon the crankshaft (61) on the outer side of the crankcase (38) and rotates about the axis of rotation (Rx) of the crankshaft (61); and an ACG cover (55) that is connected to the crankcase (38), surrounds the rotor (72) around the axis of rotation (Rx), and forms a housing space for the rotor (72). The ACG cover (55) is provided with an inner member (55a) that surrounds the rotor (72) around the axis of rotation (Rx), and an outer member (55b) that is connected to the inner member (55a) and covers the inner member (55a) further outward of the rotor (72) in terms of the axial direction. The present invention thereby provides a power unit for straddle-type vehicles that is capable of, by means of a rotary body cover, excellently protecting a rotary body provided to a crankshaft on the outer side of a crankcase.
