Abstract:
A prediction rule with which post-treatment water quality is precisely and reliably predicted is generated. A computer 10 of a prediction-rule generating system 1 is provided with: an input unit 12 that inputs time-series data of the abundance of each of multiple types of microorganisms present in activated sludge for performing water treatment or time-series data of the abundance of each of multiple types of base sequences present in the activated sludge and water-quality information that indicates the post-treatment water qualities associated with data for times that constitute the time-series data; a principal-component analysis unit 13 that performs principal-component analysis on the input time-series data and that calculates principal-component scores of the data for the times that constitute the time-series data; and a prediction-rule generating unit 14 that generates, on the basis of the calculated principal-component scores and the input water-quality information that indicates the post-treatment water quality, a prediction rule for predicting the post-treatment water quality from the abundance of each of the multiple types of microorganisms or that of each of the multiple types of base sequences.
