Abstract:
This prediction vector generation device, which generates a prediction vector of a parallax vector of a subject block in a non-standard-viewpoint image, is characterized by being provided with: a conversion pixel determination unit that determines at least one pixel position within a depth block corresponding to the subject block and in a depth map corresponding to a non-standard viewpoint image; a parallax vector conversion unit that calculates a representative value for the depth value of the pixel position determined by the conversion pixel determination unit, and converts the representative value to a parallax vector; and a prediction vector determination unit that, using the parallax vector generated by the parallax vector conversion unit, generates a prediction vector for the parallax vector of the subject block. As a result, it is possible to provide a prediction vector generation device that obtains favorable encoding efficiency and has a suppressed increase in computation volume.
