Abstract:
Disclosed are a preparation method for an EPDM insulating rubber, and use of the EPDM insulating rubber. The EPDM insulating rubber comprises the following components in parts by mass: 100 parts of EPDM, 10-15 parts of EPDM-MAH, 4-6 parts of zinc oxide, 0.5-1.5 parts of stearic acid, 2-5 parts of an antioxidant, 50-60 parts of clay, 3-5 parts of paraffin oil, 20-25 parts of white carbon black, 10-15 parts of silicon carbide, 1-3 parts of sulfur, 3-4 parts of a crosslink assisting agent, 4-5 parts of a vulcanizing agent, and 2-3 parts of silane coupling agent. The preparation method comprises multiple mixing, plastication, high-temperature heat treatment, mill run, vulcanization, and other such processes. The EPDM-MAH and the silane coupling agent are firstly mixed and left to stand for a period of time, so that the silane coupling agent completes the migration process and can fully interact with the surface of a filler to improve the dispersity of the filler, thereby inhibiting the accumulation and irregular distribution of space charges generated due to internal agglomeration of the material; and in combination with the synergistic effect of the EPDM-MAH and the silicon carbide, the space charges of the EPDM insulating rubber are further inhibited, so that the EPDM insulating rubber with excellent mechanical property and electrical properties is obtained, meeting the performance requirements of high-voltage stranded cable accessories.
