Abstract:
Provided is a preparation method of a xanthate, comprising reacting monohydric alcohol (or dihydric alcohol) with carbon disulfide and caustic alkali at a temperature of 0-30ºC in tetrahydrofuran as a reaction medium, followed by desolvation to obtain a xanthate compound of high purity with a high yield. The xanthate compound obtained according to the present invention has little smell, higher purity and higher yield, and is especially suitable for use in the preparation of higher xanthate having a carbon chain of C6 or greater, ethyl xanthate, and dixanthate compounds.
