Abstract:
An apparatus for production of a preparation water for photographic developer capable of preventing the oxidation of photographic developer, comprising housing (1), the housing (1) fitted with water inlet (14) and water outlet (15), and cartridge (2) for treating water, the cartridge (2) packed with water treatment (50) and replaceably disposed in the housing (1), the apparatus adapted to cause water to pass through the cartridge (2) to thereby produce a preparation water, wherein the water treatment (50) is composed of a stack of four or more layers (51a)...(51e) each constituted of a desired number of ceramic solids (101) containing a ferrous and ferric salt of the formula: Fe+2mFe+3nCl2m+3n (wherein m and n are positive integers). The water having passed through the cartridge (2) becomes water containing the ferrous and ferric salt of the above formula. The photographic developer prepared with the use of this water is free from the oxidation of developer because of the action of the ferrous and ferric salt.
