Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a prepreg having excellent process passability and stackability, and a method for industrially advantageously producing the prepreg. This prepreg comprises at least constituent elements [A]-[E], wherein the prepreg has a structure in which a second layer formed of a second epoxy resin composition containing [B]-[E] is provided adjacent on both surfaces of a first layer formed of [A] and a first epoxy resin composition containing [B]-[D] but substantially not containing [E], the second epoxy resin composition contains 5-15 parts by mass of [D] having a weight-average molecular weight falling within a specific range, and has a storage modulus G' of 8.0 × 105 to 6.0 × 106 Pa, the storage moduli G' at 25°C and 40°C thereof satisfying a particular relationship, and a glass transition temperature of not lower than -10°C but lower than 7°C, and the prepreg contains not less than 1 part by mass but less than 10 parts by mass of the constituent element [D] with respect to a total of 100 parts by mass of the first and second epoxy resin compositions. According to the present invention, particles contain, as main components, [A] carbon fibers, [B] an epoxy resin, [C] a curing agent, [D] a thermoplastic resin, and [E] a thermoplastic resin having a volume-average particle size of 5-50 μm.
