Abstract:
The present invention relates to a preservative composition and a paint including same. More specifically, the preservative composition of the present invention includes a water-soluble salt of pyrithione, a (C8-C20 alkyl)pyridinium salt, and a (C1-C10 alkyl)polyol including two or more hydroxy groups (-OH). The preservative composition of the present invention has excellent preservative ability by exhibiting broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity against microorganisms even without the use of preservative substances that are toxic to the human body, such as isothiazoline-based substances. Accordingly, when used for products such as paints, decay by microorganisms can be prevented for a long period of time without causing any damage to the quality of products, and thus the storage stability of products can be improved.
