The press-forming method according to the present invention, which reduces the time required for a change in the shape of a press-formed article 1 over time after springback that occurs immediately after release from the die, includes: a press-forming step S1 for using a die to press-form a press-formed article 1; a die release step S3 for releasing the press-formed article 1 from the die; a post-release die fitting step S5 for fitting the press-formed article 1, which has been released from the die, into the die and securing the press-formed article so as to match the forming bottom dead center shape; a heating-holding step S7 for heating the press-formed article 1, which has been fitted into the die, up to a prescribed temperature A that is higher than room temperature, and holding the press-formed article at the prescribed temperature A for a prescribed period of time that is less than 30 minutes; and a cooling step S7 for cooling the press-formed article 1, which has been held in the heated state, to a prescribed temperature B (B
