Abstract:

In accordance with the invention, there is provided Container and metal closure combination which includes a) a container with an externally threaded neck; b) a metal closure having an internal screw thread adapted to cooperate with the screw thread of the container neck in which the pitch angle of the thread is less than 30°; c) a protective lining on the inner surface of the closure; and d) a resilient seal liner over the top internal surface of the closure. The closure may also include the conventional wad.
