Title:
PRINTER FOR PRINTING AN IMAGE ACCORDING TO PRESENCE/ABSENCE OF DOT FORMATION AND PRINTING CONTROL DEVICE THEREOF
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2004/082942
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
It is possible to improve the image processing speed by rationalizing the data rearrangement process. An image is printed while forming a raster as a dot string on a printing medium. A raster formation element forming the raster forms the raster while repeating the main scan a plurality of times on the printing medium. Data used for dot formation is image data subjected to image processing and created by judging presence/absence of dot formation and the data is supplied from a memory to the raster formation element. When storing data generated, the data is grouped according to in which reciprocal movement among a plurality of reciprocal movements for forming a raster, dot formation is performed by the pixel which has judged presence/absence of dot formation. This simplifies the process for reading out the generated data from the memory and supplying it to the raster formation element, thereby improving the image processing speed and reducing the time required for image printing.
