Abstract:
The present invention provides a printer in which printing instructions are issued by an input part. A display (5) of the printer displays a head mark (71), a cutter mark (72) and a discharge port mark (73). The marks (71-73) are displayed correspondingly with the positional relationships of a thermal head, a cutter mechanism and a discharge port, respectively, inside the printer. An image (80) of label tape is initially displayed on the display (5). The starting end of the image (80) is aligned with the head mark (71). The printer displays the image (80) line by line in alignment with line-by-line printing operations of the thermal head while moving the image (80) in the same direction as the tape feed direction. The printing situation inside the printer is reproduced on the display (5). The user can specifically ascertain the printing situation inside the printer.
