Abstract:

[Problem] To provide a printer, wherein a sensor, which is disposed on the downstream side of a thermal head, is able to detect a continuous form without being impeded by an ink ribbon. [Solution] A printer comprises: a main body (20) wherein a transport path for a continuous form (P) is formed; a printing unit that is disposed on the main body (20), and is equipped with a thermal head (40) that prints prescribed information on the continuous form (P) via an ink ribbon, and a platen roller (41) disposed in a positon facing the thermal head (40) with the continuous form (P) therebetween; and a sensor unit (45) that is equipped with a sensor (48), which detects the continuous form (P), and is attached to the main body (20), and is movably disposed between a first position on the downstream side of the thermal head (40) where the sensor (48) is able to detect the continuous form (P), and a second position that rotates around a pivot point (45a) and is positioned further from the thermal head (40) than the first position.
