Abstract:
One aspect of the present invention resides in a printer comprising: a transport roller that transports a print medium; a printing head that sandwiches, together with the transport roller, the print medium and prints on the print medium; an urging member that urges the printing head in a first direction toward the transport roller; and a contact portion that is in contact with the printing head. The printing head has a first side urged by the urging member and a second side opposite to the first side and facing the transport roller. When viewed from the side of the printer, a point of action of the urging force of the urging member on the printing head is between a position where the printing head receives a reaction force from the transport roller and a position where the contact portion supports the second side of the printing head. The printing head is configured to be swingable in a clockwise or counterclockwise swing direction with the contact portion as a fulcrum when the printer is viewed from the side.
