Abstract:
An aspect of the present invention provides a printer capable of switching between separated issuance and continuous issuance, the printer being provided with: a conveyance roller that conveys a printing medium; a printing head that prints information on a label, while the printing medium is being held between the printing head and the conveyance roller; and a separation unit that retains a separation roller opposed to the conveyance roller for separated issuance, and is movable between a closed position at which the separation unit covers at least a part of the printing head and an opening position at which the separation unit does not cover the printing head. When the separation unit is positioned at the opening position, a space in which the printing head can be attached or detached is formed.
