Abstract:

The color densities of patches included in a control strip (9) are measured, and printing is controlled according to the color densities. The patches are arranged in the direction in which ink keys of a printer are arranged. The patches include black, cyan, magenta, and yellow representative patches (9K, 9C, 9M, 9Y) having half−tone dot area ratios per unit area in the range of 60% to 85% for every width of one ink key. The printing is controlled so that the color densities of four representative patches (9K, 9C, 9M, 9Y) may be in predetermined color density ranges for every width of one ink key.
