Abstract:
The present invention disclosed herein relates to a prismatic secondary battery. One embodiment of the present invention comprises: a case made of metal; at least one electrode assembly accommodated within the case; at least one heat absorbing-pouch in contact with the electrode assembly; and an electrolyte filled in the case, wherein the heat-absorbing pouch includes an absorbent material impregnated with a liquid that vaporizes by absorbing the heat generated in the electrode assembly, and a pouch that sealingly accommodates the absorbent material impregnated with the liquid.
