Abstract:
A process for the preparation of 1-alkyl-5-benzoyl-1H-tetrazole derivatives, which comprises: step (1) of reacting a keto-amide derivative represented by formula (I) [wherein A is a halogen atom or the like; n is an integer of 0 to 5; and Y is an alkyl group] with a halogenating agent to form an imidoyl halide derivative represented by formula (II) [wherein A, n and Y are each as defined above; and X is a halogen atom]; and step (2) of reacting the imidoyl halide derivative represented by formula (II) with an azide represented by formula (III) [wherein M is an alkali metal or the like; and m is 1 or 2] to form a 1-alkyl-5-benzoyl-1H-tetrazole derivative represented by formula (IV) [wherein A, n and Y are each as defined above].
