Abstract:
Disclosed is a process for preparing ethylene glycol using cellulose, which comprises the catalytic conversion of cellulose into ethylene glycol using multi-metal catalyst at 120-300℃ and 1-12MPa H2 under hydrothermal condition, wherein the multi-metal catalyst uses one or more transition metals of groups 8, 9 and 10 selected from iron, cobalt, nickel, ruthenium, rhodium, palladium, iridium and platinum and one or more components selected from the metallic state, carbide, nitride or phosphide of molybdenum and/or tungsten as active components.
