Abstract:
A process for producing an acetal from a saturated aliphatic aldehyde and a C¿2? or higher saturated aliphatic alcohol, characterized by continuously supplying the saturated aliphatic aldehyde and the C¿2? or higher saturated aliphatic alcohol to a reaction system, contacting the aldehyde and the alcohol to a solid acid catalyst in the presence of a water-insoluble solvent, and continuously taking the resultant acetal-containing mixture out of the reaction system.
