Abstract:
A process for producing an electrophotographic photoreceptor provided at its
surface with a configuration of depressions stably in high productivity. The
process is characterized in that providing a coating liquid for surface layer
containing a solvent in which a hydrophilic solvent and a hydrophobic solvent
are contained and a polymer compound soluble in the hydrophobic solvent, in which
the boiling point of the hydrophilic solvent is not lower than that of the hydrophobic
solvent, in which the dipole moment, calculated by geometry optimization computation
using semiempirical molecular orbital computation, of the hydrophilic solvent
is in the range of 0 to less than 2.8 and in which the total mass of the hydrophobic
solvent is in the range of 50 to less than 100 mass% based on the total mass of the
solvent contained in the coating liquid for surface layer, the coating liquid
for surface layer is applied and on the surface coated with the coating liquid
for surface layer, a configuration of depressions are provided by dew condensation.
