Abstract:

A process for producing a fleece having front and back faces made of different fibers which comprises: the step of finely knitting a ultra fine polyester fiber or acrylic fiber yarn at a high gauge and a high loop density to give loop piles (1) on the front face while knitting a natural fiber yarn such as cotton or silk as the ground yarn (2) of the back face; the step of pile brushing the top edge of the loop piles (1) formed in the above knitting step to give cut piles (3); the step of fuzzing the cut piles (3) to give raised fiber yarns (4); the step of shearing the raised fiber yarns (4); the step of pilling (5) the raised fiber yarns (4) having been sheared by contact friction; and the step of shearing at least one the raised fiber yarns (4) to convert them into shorter raised fiber yarns (4).
